Hi anon! Thanks for the question. I know, right? Like, this is the ‘hero’ of the story and it gets worse as it goes on. It’s a clusterfuck of awful and he becomes despicable and there’s no redemption at the end, wtf? I could talk about Light for months if I had enough coffee, and guess what? I have coffee. It would make sense and it’s sort of complicated because I do like him and dislike him, so this might be overlong. To say ‘I think he’s psychologically interesting’ doesn’t explain anything, really. Light makes me sad because I think he was an ok person under all the crap. A bit of a arsewipe, but who isn’t? Everything just went wrong for him because he imagined something terrible to be providence. He would have been a good person and probably would have done a lot of good, so he doesn’t start out as a cold-blooded killer but he becomes one. I’m going to put my rambling under a cut because I have a feeling that I will ramble a lot and it comes with a health warning.
